The Jersey City Independent is a online newspaper covering Jersey City and surrounding municipalities in Hudson County, New Jersey. It also publishes JCI Magazine, a print quarterly magazine.

Jersey City Independent is a weekly online newspaper. It was founded in 2009 by Jon Whiten, who is also co-publisher and editor; Shane Smith is co-publisher and associate editor; It has a content sharing agreement with NJ Spotlight and is affiliated with the Online News Association and the New Jersey Press Association.[1]

JCI Magazine

JCI Magazine is free quarterly print publication covering arts, culture, politics, and lifestyle in Hudson County. Originally found as NEW it was acquired by the Jersey City Independent in December 2009[2][3] and had its inaugural issue in April 2010.[4] In 2013, NEW was renamed JCI.
