Jean Vaquié
Jean Louis Vaquié (17 November 1911 – 30 December 1992) was a French writer, lecturer and editor close to the traditionalist Catholic school (Pius IX's Syllabus, Ernest Jouin's RISS) and providentialism (Marquis de la Franquerie). His main themes were revolution, gnosis, liturgical reform and subversion in the Church.

Biography
Jean Vaquié was born in Bordeaux. A reserve officer, Vaquié fought in the 1939–40 war and, after demobilisation, joined a partisan network fighting the occupying German forces, but was never a Gaullist. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour for his military service. After the war, Vaquié worked as a medical representative for the Clin laboratories.
In 1947, during the purge, he published a collection of mystical texts under the pseudonym Jean Gonthier, entitled Malédictions et Bénédictions (Curses and Blessings), which was subsequently republished twice. He also wrote under the pen names Étienne de Braguse and Charles Montjoye.
He has published mainly in Cahiers Augustin Barruel (co-founded with Étienne Couvert and Christian Lagrave), with Éditions de Chiré, and in Lecture et Tradition.
Vaquié remained close friends with Léon de Poncins until the latter's death in 1975. He is best known for writing The Preliminary Battle in November 1989,[1] a manifesto of counter-revolutionary strategy, as well as Reflections on Enemies and Manoeuvre (Lecture et Tradition, No. 126).[2]
Every year, the Dominicans of Avrillé (Fraternité Saint-Dominique, Priory of Haie-aux-Bonshommes in Maine-et-Loire), formerly close to the now defunct Union sacerdotale Marcel-Lefebvre (USML), organise the "Journées Jean Vaquié" in his honour.
Jean Vaquié died at the 9th arrondissement of Lyon aged 81.
