Ira Sachs (born November 21, 1965) is an American filmmaker. His first film was the acclaimed short Lady (1993).

Biography

Sachs was born in Memphis, Tennessee. His films include The Delta (1997), Forty Shades of Blue (2005), Married Life (2007), and Keep the Lights On (2012).[1] His newest film, Love Is Strange, premiered at Sundance in 2014.[2] He is currently working on a new film titled Little Men with Greg Kinnear, Alfred Molina, Jason Sudeikis and Paulina García as actors.[3]

Sachs is Jewish and openly gay.[4][5] He described Keep the Lights On to be semi-autographical.[6] In January 2012, Sachs married artist Boris Torres in New York city, a few days before their twins, Viva and Felix, were born.[7][8]
