Informatics Engineering is the direct translation from many southern European languages of an engineering discipline most commonly known in English as Computer Engineering.


In Portugal and other countries however Informatics Engineering (sometimes also referred as Informatics and Computing Engineering) refers strictly to Computer Science[1] whereas Electrotechnical and Computers Engineering refers to Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.[2]
