Ellen Bryan Moore
Ellen Bryan Moore (April 13, 1912 – February 20, 1999)[1] was an American politician who served as Louisiana Register of State Lands from 1952 to 1956 and 1960 to 1976.
Biography
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his grandfather served as mayor, she received her Bachelor's Degree from the Louisiana State University.[2] During World War II, Moore was a member of the Women's Army Corps[3] and was a unit commander.[2] She ran for Louisiana Register of State Lands against Lucille May Grace in 1948[4], before finally winning the position in 1952.[5] After Grace took back the seat in 1956, she returned in 1960 and later served until 1976.[2] She died on February 20, 1999.[1]
