After graduating from the VPW School Of Excellence, Andrews went on to work for Revolution British Wrestling, and Premier Promotions before coming back to Varsity Pro Wrestling and debuting in Real Quality Wrestling.

At the VPW debut show on 16 September 2005 in Horndean, Hampshire, Andrews took on and defeated Bulldozer, picking up his first pro victory. After that match a jealous Kris Kay attacked Andrews who had to be helped to the backstage area by ring staff.

Later on in the same night Andrews got a measure of revenge by costing Kay a match to Andy Simmonz, afterwards an irate Kris Kay challenge Andrews to a match at the next show, Andrews accepted.

On 28 October Chris Andrews took on Kris Kay in a grudge match, in the closing minutes of the match the referee was accidentally taken out allowing Kay to nail Andrews with a chair shot and then pick up the win.

Kay and Andrews fought again a month later on 25 November and this time it was Chris Andrews who managed to pick up the win over rival Kris Kay in a feud ending bout.

On VPW's first show in his hometown of Crediton on 26 January 2006 he and his brother, VPW School of Excellence graduate, Sam Andrews lost individual matches to The UK Kid only to later pick up a victory over The UK Kid and Spiro in a tag team match together.

On 13 January it was confirmed that in the month of February Kip James (aka former WWE star Billy Gunn) would be coming to Varsity Pro Wrestling. At the 17 February show in its main event, Andrews faced Kip James in James' first UK independent match only to be defeated due to an inadvertent distraction from Phil Powers.

On the next show in Exeter, Devon one day later, Andrews faced Phil Powers (with his valet Erin Angel) in a singles match only to get disqualified when the referee saw him hit Powers with Erin Angel's own handbag.

Andrews made his debut for Real Quality Wrestling in a match at the "No Pain, No Gain" show facing off against Jorge Castano, but was defeated.
