Andrew Farkas is a writer who was born in Akron, Ohio. He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois, USA where he helps run a letters racket on the Near West Side and is the Fiction Editor of Packing Town Review. He holds an M.F.A. from the University of Alabama and earned a master’s degree in English as part of the Creative Writing Program at the University of Tennessee. Farkas is getting a doctorate at the University of Illinois at Chicago.[1] He is currently working on a novel called Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been? set in the 21st century and the main character is being tracked by the Gestapo.[2]

Past Work

Andrew Farkas is the author of a collection of short fictions, Self-Titled Debut, for which he won the 2008 Subito Press Prize for Experimental Fiction.[3] The stories featured in Self-Titled Debut are all from the same time period. He has also written a number of fictions in magazines such as New Orleans Review, Northwest Review, The Cincinnati Review, and The Brooklyn Rail.[4] Farkas is the Former Fiction Editor of Black Warrior Review.
