Alexandre Picard (born October 9, 1985) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who is currently playing for HC Davos in Switzerland.

Playing career

Picard was drafted in the first round, 8th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After playing four full seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Picard joined the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, for the 2005–06 season. He made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with the Blue Jackets the same season.

On March 3, 2010, Picard was traded by the Blue Jackets to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Chad Kolarik.[1]

On July 7, 2011, Picard signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.[2] He was assigned to AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. On June 9, 2012, Picard won the Calder Cup with the Norfolk Admirals. He was named MVP of the AHL playoff series.[3]

Picard opted to sign a multi-year contract abroad with Swiss club, Genève-Servette HC of the National League A (NLA) from the 2012–13 season. In December 2013 and in December 2014, he won the Spengler Cup with the Genève-Servette HC. He left after three years with the club. In December 2015, Picard strengthened the roster of fellow NLA side HC Davos at the Spengler Cup, winning his third title at the prestigious tournament. Following his good showings at the 2015 Spengler Cup, Davos offered him a contract for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign which he signed in January 2016.[4]
