Mission

Fostering the advancement of end-to-end supply chain management through a body of knowledge, innovative research, systems, and methods to create value for customers, members and organizations.

Designations

APICS offers several professional designations including, APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Supply Chain Operation Reference Professional (SCOR-P).[1] The APICS Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) program is no longer offered but continues to be recognized by the organization.

APICS and APICS Supply Chain Council develop and publish primary research, proprietary industry content and thought leadership articles. Publications include—Industry-leading research with corporate partners and universities (through APICS Supply Chain Council)

APICS Supply Chain Council

APICS SCC is a nonprofit organization that advances supply chains through unbiased research, benchmarking and publications. APICS SCC maintains the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, the supply chain management community’s most widely accepted framework for evaluating and comparing supply chain activities and performance. APICS SCC enables corporations, academic institutions and public sector organizations to address the ever-changing challenges of managing a global supply chain to elevate supply chain performance. Partners

APICS products and services are delivered by channel partners. There are more than 200 professional chapters in North America and 95 partner organizations around the globe.

History

In 1957, 20 production control managers formed the American Production and Inventory Control Society. The organization, which later became known as APICS, has since grown to more than 43,000 members and is now a global entity with more than 300 channel partners that connect with members in over 100 countries. APICS has evolved into a strategic partner to global corporations and individuals at all career levels. APICS education programs ensure employees can be successful even when managing the largest and most complex supply chains.

APICS merged with the Supply Chain Council in 2014.[2] and with American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L) in 2015.
