William T. Lawrence (born 1947) is a United States federal judge.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Lawrence received a B.S. from Indiana University in 1970 and a J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1973. He was in private practice in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1973 to 1997. He was a Public defender, Marion County Superior Court, Indiana from 1974 to 1983. Master commissioner, Marion County Circuit Court, Indiana, 1983-1997. He was a Presiding judge, Marion County Circuit Court, Indiana from 1997 to 2002. He was a U.S. Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, 2002–2008.

Lawrence is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Lawrence was nominated by President George W. Bush on February 14, 2008, to a seat vacated by John Daniel Tinder. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 26, 2008, and received his commission on June 30, 2008.
