Trouble at the Henhouse is the fifth full-length album from Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip. It was released on May 7, 1996. Produced by the band and Mark Vreeken, the album was mixed by Steven Drake, guitarist for Canadian band Odds, which had toured with the Hip the previous year.
The cover art, a photograph by Avery Crounse, is also called "Trouble at the Henhouse".
Commercial and critical performance
The album debuted at #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart, and stayed at #1 for 4 straight weeks.[2][3]
The album won the 1997 Juno Award for Album of the Year and North Star Rock Album of the Year, and The Tragically Hip won the 1997 award for Group of the Year.[4]
The album has been certified 5x Platinum in Canada.[5] By March 1997, the album had sold 650,000 units in Canada.[6]
