Quercus graciliformis (also called Chisos oak[1] or slender oak) is a rare North American species of trees in the beech family. It has been found only in the Chisos Mountains in western Texas and a few miles southeast in the State of Coahuila in Mexico.[2] It is threatened by habitat loss.[3][4]

Quercus graciliformis is a deciduous tree up to 8 meters (27 feet) tall. Leaves are elliptical or lance-shaped with 8-10 shallow lobes. It grows on dry, rocky canyon floors at elevations above 5,000 feet (1500 meters).[5]
