Pollstar is a trade publication for the concert tour industry.[1] It gets its information primarily from the agents, managers and promoters who produce concerts.[2]

History and profile

Founded in 1981 in Fresno, California, Pollstar essentially purloined the format pioneered by Performance Magazine, founded a decade earlier in Ft. Worth, Texas. Pollstar won a war of attrition with Performance, which abruptly ceased publication in 1999.

Today, Pollstar has an office in London and correspondents in six countries. The magazine is a member of the Associated Press (AP). Its subscribers receive the weekly magazine and access to its online databases.[1]

Amplify is now Powered by Pollstar. Starting June 2015, Dave Brooks has been contributing to Pollstar’s print magazine and PollstarPro in a new section called “The Real: Powered by Pollstar” featuring all original reporting and analysis.

Pollstar holds an annual award ceremony to honor artists and professionals in the concert industry.[3][4][5]
