Owase Station (尾鷲駅 Owase-eki?) is a railway station in Owase, Mie Prefecture, Japan, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). The station is 123.3 rail kilometers from the terminus of the line at Kameyama Station.

History

Owase Station opened on December 19, 1934 as Owashi Station (尾鷲駅 Owashi eki?) on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR) Kisei East Line. The JGR became the Japan National Railways (JNR) after World War 2, and the line was extended to Kuki Station by January 12, 1957. The line was renamed the Kisei Main Line on July 15, 1959, at which time the name of the station assumed its present spelling. The station was absorbed into the JR Central network upon the privatization of the (JNR) on April 1, 1987.
