Miss Sixty (stylized as MISS SIXTY or MISS 60) is an Italian fashion brand, launched in 1991. With foundations in denim wear, Miss Sixty produces original cuts and casual wear styles designed specifically for females. Available worldwide, their products include jeans, tops, skirts, sweatshirts, jackets, bags, shoes, sunglasses and watches.[1]
History
The Miss Sixty brand is owned by Sixty Group, which was founded in 1990 and has over 1,500 employees. The following year, in 1991, Sixty Group launched a clothing line called Miss Sixty. The brand quickly gained international attention and by 1992 it was available in the United States. Their products are available in various department stores and their own flagship stores.[2][3]
In 2000, Miss Sixty launched their own line of footwear. In 2002, Miss Sixty launched an eyewear line and in 2004, they introduced a children's line of clothing.[3] The Miss Sixty brand has been featured at fashion events, including the New York Fashion Week.
In 2008, its subsidiary Sixty UK (started in 1998), which operated the Miss Sixty and Energie fashion brand went into administration and closed shortly afterwards.[4]
In 2013, Miss Sixty parent company Sixty Group went into administration. Two of the Luxembourg companies now controlling Sixty S.p.A - Sixty International and Sixty S.p.A, which were both acquired by the Asian fund Crescent Hyde Park, bought the Energie and Miss Sixty brands immediately and, by March 2014, the Refrigiwear and Murphy & Nye brands.[5]
