Manalapan Brook is a tributary of the South River in Monmouth and Middlesex counties, New Jersey in the United States.[1]

Course

The Manalapan Brook's source is at Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.[2] in Monmouth County, a few miles south of Monmouth Battlefield State Park, adjacent to the headwaters of Matchaponix Brook.[1] It flows generally north, heading to Jamesburg. After crossing a dammed section named Lake Manalapan, it continues north along CR 615 (Main Street). It crosses under Route 18 and continues to the Raritan River, where it ends at Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found..

Name

Manalapan is Lenape for "good cultivation" or "good country".[1] The name also derives from Manalapan Township, one of the several municipalities the stream flows through.
