Mala Pareshan (1356-1416) (Kurdish: Mela Perêşan/مەلا پەرێشان‎) is the pen name of Kurdish poet Mohammad Abulqasim. He is one of the first Kurdish poets who wrote his Diwan in Kurdish.[1][2][3] He probably has a Kurdish, Laki or Lori origin.

Life

He was born in Dinawar about 1356. Mala Pareshan was a Shia Sufi and a member of Hurufism. [4][5] He was a friend and disciple of Sheikh Rajab Bursi who was a mystic Hurufism leader in 14th century.

Poetry

His Diwan was first printed in Kermanshah in 1916 and then it was printed several times later in different places. His poems have a syllabic meter which is a common characteristics of Gorani or Hawrami poetry. Most of his poetry is in Kurdish [6] especially in Laki and Gorani dialects. Noted classical musician Seyed Khalil Alinezhad used Mala Pareshan's poems in his music.
