Hanwha (Korean: 한화) is one of the largest business conglomerate (chaebol) in South Korea. Founded in 1952 as Korea Explosives Inc. (한국화약 주식회사), the group has grown into a large multi-profile business conglomerate, with diversified holdings stretching from explosives, their original business, to retail to financial services.[2]
The group owns Hanwha Eagles, which is a professional baseball club in South Korea. Current CEO of Hanwha is Kim Seung-youn.[3]
Hanwha's global presence includes R&D centres in South Korea, China, Germany, Malaysia and the United States, manufacturing sites in South Korea, China, Germany and Malaysia, and marketing and sales branches in South Korea, Australia, Canada, China, Japan and the United States.
