Among his most popular is the captain of the Carabinieri Anceschi Flavio, played for five seasons on the hit television series Don Matteo RAI with Terence Hill and Nino Frassica. This gave a rebirth to the popularity of the show which before Insinna's return had retreated in the ratings.
