File:Wind generator system-vectorised.svg

Summary
Hand-drawn picture based on Vela Creations' DIY wind turbine system. The turbine is called the "Chispito Wind Generator" (see http://www.velacreations.com/chispito.html ). Dough the systems may be different for other wind turbines, as some parts may be integrated into the wind turbine itself (see http://www1.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/wind_how.html), the Chispito design is "fairly" representative (or atleast gives a general idea) for most wind turbine designs and especially diy wind turbines. The energy storage apparatus may be besides (flywheel energy storage), hydrogen fuel cells or compressed air tanks (see http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Home_Generation and http://www.thesietch.org/projects/Hydrogenmaker/index.htm ) Finally, note that the mounting of the turbine may be done on the surface or on the roof of a building/construction (preferably garage, or on a well-rubberised surface to prevent vibrations).
