Summary

Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Bari, Apulia, Italy. Following the 1456 earthquake, three arches have been added to reinforce the structure of the building. The first and the third ones (respectively not visible and in the background on the photo) were built between 1458 and 1463 by the Prince of Taranto Giovanni Antonio del Balzo Orsini. The center arch (in the foreground on the photo) is by Ludovico il Moro of the Milan Sforza family in 1494. All three bear the coat of arms of their patrons.
