Summary

CVN angled <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/flight_deck" class="extiw" title="wikipedia:flight deck">flight deck</a> animation illustrating advantages of offsetting the recovery area. It allows for aircraft recovery and launches at the same time without the risk of collision posed by such operations on an axial deck aircraft carrier. This is a new version of the animation, using textured planes and flight deck of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Dwight_D._Eisenhower_(CVN-69)" class="extiw" title="w:USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69)">USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69)</a>. An <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F/A-18E_Super_Hornet" class="extiw" title="w:F/A-18E Super Hornet">F/A-18E</a> on catapult 2 takes off, (note steam escaping as catapult releases) followed by a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-3_Viking" class="extiw" title="w:S-3 Viking">S-3</a> which <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolter_(aviation)" class="extiw" title="w:Bolter (aviation)">bolters</a>, followed by the launch of an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-2_Hawkeye" class="extiw" title="w:E-2 Hawkeye">E-2C</a> on catapult 1. Finally an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EA-6_Prowler" class="extiw" title="w:EA-6 Prowler">EA-6B</a> catching the wire for a successful landing. Also on the flightdeck are another S-3, several F/A-18Es, and an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SH-60_Seahawk" class="extiw" title="w:SH-60 Seahawk">SH-60</a>.
