Redrawn by Daumier for publication after Charles Philipon´s original <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Philipon_Metamorphose_Louis-Philippe_en_poire.jpg" title="File:Philipon Metamorphose Louis-Philippe en poire.jpg">pen and bister-ink sketch "La Métamorphose du roi Louis-Philippe en poire"</a> ("The Metamorphosis of King Louis-Philippe into a Pear") drawn in a courtroom in 1831, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Paris. The set begins with an accurate portrait of King Louis-Philippe (1830-1848) and gradually transforms into a pear. This set would become the symbol of the overweight king.
