Summary

The administration building of the American Academy of Arts and Letters in Audubon Terrace in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City was built in 1921-23 and was designed by William M. Kendall, a member of the Academy, in the Anglo-Italian Renaissance style. The bronze doors on West 155th Street were designed by Academy member Adolph A. Weinman and are dedicated to the memory of Mary E. Wilkins Freeman and the women writers of the United States.
