Fatai (born Fatai Veamatahau on 4 June 1995) is a Melbourne-based singer who soon after being a semi-finalist on the first season of The Voice.,[1] she penned a deal with Mercury Records Australia, which is part of Universal Music Australia.[2] She spent two and a half years under their direction and guidance and in mid 2015, it was decided that Fatai would desire to pursue the future as an independent artist. Fatai spent a great deal of time in the studio recording and her debut single, Purple, was released on August 16, 2015. Fatai began singing professionally with her family from the age of seven. In 2009, she began a solo career, singing to audiences at various festivals and community events.

Career

Fatai’s videos covering Disney's Frozen's Do You Want To Build A Snowman found its way to an online audience of many millions of people globally on Facebook and YouTube.[citation needed] Soon after, Fatai was requested to record a studio version of Do You Want To Build A Snowman which was released as the lead single on Universal Music Australia's Christmas compilation album We Love Disney, in November 2014. Soon afterwards, Guy Sebastian requested Fatai to be a guest feature on his song, Lightning, from his 2014 record Madness. Fatai too, features as a backing vocalist on the Australian entry to Eurovision 2015 by Guy Sebastian titled Tonight Again,[3] which finished with a top 5 placing in the competition.

Fatai toured as main support to Guy Sebastian on his Australian Arena tour and David Ryan Harris (USA) in 2015, Boyce Avenue (USA) on their Australian tour in 2014.[4] Fatai sold out her own first headline tour spanning Australia and New Zealand in 2014.
