Begum Bazar (Telugu: బేగంబజార్, Urdu: بیگم بازار) is the biggest commercial market in Hyderabad, India.[1] It was established during the Qutb Shahi rule. Begum Bazar is located half a kilometer from the Naya Pul bridge in the Old City. It is an age old retail and wholesale market for household commodities. Of late, several brassware merchants have set up shop in the Begum Bazar. House old commodities of all sizes, shapes and brands at the best prizes are available. The only hitch at the bazar is the congestion and lack of hygiene. Deals worth crores of ₹ are struck daily.
Begum Bazar also hosts the second biggest Fish Market of Hyderabad, after the fish market at Musheerabad.
The adjoining Moazzam Jahi Market is the largest fruit and vegetable market in the city. This market is being slowly replaced by the market at Kothapet, beyond Dilsukhnagar.
The historic Osmania General Hospital is close by.
